Traditional hardwired and video intercoms are the cause of over 80% of all gate problems and are not really designed for long distance applications. Wires are usually thin communications cables buried underground. The wires break easily, become wet, get dug up by mistake and are very susceptible to lightning damage.
PJM Security Installations prefers not to work on intercoms due to their unreliability and repeated faults. We offer no workmanship or product guarantees on any work involving hardwired intercoms.
Our strongest recommendation is to install cellphone operated gate opening systems called “G Com” where pre-authorised people may be added to call to open the gate. Visitors may call you and in turn you may open the gate. The estimated cost of installing this system is $336.00
